Wondering how poeple sound different

2013年6月24日 月曜日 カテゴリー: 英文エッセイ

I took a nap after I woke up and already had breakfast this morning. That’s because I felt tired. It’s most probably from yesterday’s TOEIC Test. Now I’m wondering how the pronunciation differs from person to person. I know it is different from country to country. British accent has its own features, so does American accent. But what I meant here is about more individualistic aspect of English pronunciation. There are some British people I can easily hear and understand, but on the other hand, there are other British people I have some trouble understanding. I cannot understand every word of them but some details. That was what I encountered when I was listening to the listening section of TOEIC yesterday.

A freshman moved in

2013年3月31日 日曜日 カテゴリー: 英文エッセイ

Hi everyone

In our house, we rent a room to others. Today a new tenant moved in. She is a freshman of a nearby college from coming April. She is going to live by herself but today she carried a large amount of goods with her family. That seemed hectic. They moved back and forth carrying heavy boxes between their car and the room. The room she rents is in the second floor, so they have to go upstairs with heavy boxes filled with her daily commodities. They arrived this morning and started their duties.

We started to rent the room a long time ago. I don’t remember exactly when we started. AS far as I remember, she may be the fourth tenant and the second college student who has rented our room. I hope she will enjoy staying there. We set stepping stones in the yard for her. We bought them at a nearby DIY store.

英語のエッセイを始めます。

2013年3月30日 土曜日 カテゴリー: 英文エッセイ

Hello everyone

From now on, I’d like to write some essays here in English from time to time. I’ll also try to explain some grammatical points on my own essays if possible. Writing English essays is not difficult at all if you are not afraid of small mistakes. Do not try to be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. If you are not certain of use of grammar and expressions, ask your teacher. Writing your own thoughts with your own English words is very important to improve your English skills. Please remember even if native English speakers may make a mistake in their use of English just like we are not perfect in our use of Japanese. Trying not to make a mistake is good but trying to be perfect discourages you from writing about yourself in English. Once again, do not be afraid of small mistakes.
